Charlton Park Biogas
Raw Energy successfully developed, financed and manage a 3MW anaerobic digestion plant in Wiltshire.
- 3MW of installed capacity
- 600m3 per hour of gas injected into the grid
- 20 year index RHI tariff
This is a 50,000 tonnes per annum facility, processing food and agricultural wastes alongside some farm crops. This plant uses two digesters in parallel to generate over 900m3 of biogas per hour. This biogas is then cleaned and augmented into biomethane which is exported directly into the local gas network, producing enough gas for the demands of over 5,000 homes. As part of the process the plant generates approximately 40,000 tonnes of biofertiliser annually which is sufficient to nourish 5,000 acres of farmland in the vicinity replacing the need for manmade fertiliser to be used.
After developing this greenfield site, Raw Energy arranged the finance and ran the due diligence process and data room for this project bringing together SWEN Capital Partners, HoSt Bioenergy Systems and Real Asset Wealth.
Raw Energy oversaw the construction of the plant from breaking ground until performance testing which was successfully achieved in 2022. We manage the plant, overseeing the operator, contractors, suppliers and contracts.
